Duplicate Products

From time to time, MK will assign a new product code to an existing product. Sometimes this is a permanent change, while other times it is a temporary replacement. In either case, having multiple product codes for the same product can make it difficult to track your inventory.

We’ve taken a few steps to help make managing these changes easier.

Quarterly Review

Each quarter, when the new order form goes into effect, we review all Section 1 products and move any products that are no longer active to the appropriate discontinued category.

Linked Products

When a product has more than one product code, we link the products together. This means that when you search for a specific product code, products with linked codes will also appear in the search results.

When you view a product’s history, the history for any linked products will also be included.

Products with linked codes are denoted with "Alternate Codes" highlighted in gray.

Combine Inventory

If you have inventory under multiple product codes for the same product, you can use the Combine Inventory report to easily move all quantities from the duplicate products to the active product code.
